Whitfield School
175 South Mason Road
St. Louis, MO 63141
Ph: 314.434.5141

We value the success of every student.
Inside our classrooms of 16 students or fewer, teachers who love working with adolescents get to know their students as individuals.  Our expert teachers know when to challenge, when to praise and when to encourage.  Students in our classrooms embrace the process of learning and take pride in the results of their hard work.

We prepare our students for a changing world.
We carefully construct a school comunity that reflects the diverse world around us.  Teachers develop projects in which students discover their role in that world, whether discussing the impact of globalization on emerging countries or researching the environmental impact of various forms of energy.  Using our one-to-one laptop program to enhance an engaging curriculum, we help students learn how to access, use and analyze information.

We thinking learning is a shared experience.
Whether students are conducting research that they will share with their classmates or a group of students is working on a lab, Whitfield's classrooms are dynamic places. And while technology is a daily part of students' lives, we place incredible value on the human interaction that is the hallmark of a Whitfield education.  We teach students to communicate and collaborate to reach a goal.

We emphasize ethical behavior.
Character education is as important to us as academics.  Helping our students develop into well-rounded young people with the moral fiber and the academic prowess to be successful students at our country's finest universities and ethical leaders in an increasingly complex world is why we choose to teach at Whitfield.

We inspire our students.
Our alumni return to campus to talk with their teachers.  The recurring theme?  That they were superbly prepared for college, from their academic skills to managing the independence of college life.  The fun part?  We know we're doing it right when we hear about their leadership roles in campus organizations, their honors theses and their graduate school plans.  They've discovered that learning is a lifelong process.

We are a family school.
Siblings receive priority in the admission process because we believe in enrolling entire families, whenever possible, because it’s the right thing for your family and because it strengthens our community.  Whitfield parents are involved and active in the life of our school.  Ours is a community where students, parents, faculty, staff, and alumni work together to make a difference at Whitfield, in St. Louis and in the world beyond.
